10 delicious summer wedding cocktails that are pretty as a picture

Time to get that booze flowing.

Pimm’s Cup

This British garden party staple is an ideal daytime drink, perfect for welcoming guests to the reception. It can be made in pitcher-sized quantities with whatever summer fruits are available.

Aperol Spritz

What’s a modern Maltese wedding without 75 per cent of the guests quaffing huge volumes of Aperol Spritz? You can also try out variants such as elderflower spritz or Spritz Veneziano.

Champagne Mojito

Take the classic mojito up to 11 with an extra festive twist, by replacing the rum with champagne.

Negroni

This iconic Italian cocktail, made with gin, vermouth, and Campari, has been around since 1919 – a tried and true classic. Some may suggest substituting the Campari with Kinnie for a lower-alcohol, very Maltese take on it.

Margarita

With tequila, triple sec and fresh lime, margarita has summer written all over it. It's tart and delicious, and can be customised a number of ways to make it your signature drink.

French 75

A French 75 is light and refreshing, made with gin, lemon and champagne. Infusions such as lavender add an extra special twist to the drink, but it’s delicate and lovely on its own too.

Rose Sangria

Dress up your favourite fruity rosé with a mixture of your favourite seasonal fruits and a splash of rum or brandy for a fresh take on the classic summer drink.

Bellini

Blending prosecco and peach puree and served in a champagne flute, a Bellini is an excellent addition to a summer wedding drinks menu.

Strawberry Basil Whiskey Lemonade

This flavour combination is unusual, but boy, does it work! Whiskey is blended with strawberry and basil for a wonderfully summery concoction that is sure to be a hit.

A simple blend of peach schnapps, grenadine and champagne, this pretty cocktail is one that everyone – not just the bride – will really love.
