Jacuzzi on your own private terrace? Yes please! The mountain region of Hakone in Japan – just over an hour or so by coach from Tokyo – is known for its spa resorts and nature-inspired Kaiseki cuisine.

One and a half times the size of the United Kingdom, Patagonia, which covers swathes of Argentina and Chile, is a dramatic land, full of myths and legends. Watch whales off its Atlantic and northern coasts or head towards the Andes – either way, you’re guaranteed spectacular views, and photos!

This national park, four hours out of Puertes Natales, is well worth the journey, particularly if you’re travelling on honeymoon. Sunsets overlooking the turquoise lagoons and granite shards piecing the landscape offer dramatic sights you won’t easily forget.

Twenty minutes from the capital, Hamilton, Warwick Long Bay well-deserves its name! Featuring pink sands which stretch almost a kilometre long, this bay is perfect for snorkelling or just laying back with your new spouse and making plans for the future.

Glowworms light up the dark interiors of this complex of caves in New Zealand in a truly spectacular show of nature’s wonders. While not a destination in and of itself, putting this on your honeymoon bucket list will also take you to the four corners of this beautiful country.

Utah may not naturally spring to mind as a honeymoon destination but dare to tread where few have gone before (from this end of the world at any rate). The US state has glorious hotels and resorts, but be sure to hike the Buckskin Gulch canyon, on the border with Arizona, for a different view to this continent.

A large salt and clay pan, surrounded by dramatic red dunes, Sossusvlei in Namibia is just one reason to visit this spectacular African nation. Dune 45 – standing 80 metres tall – as well as the Fish River Canyon and the country’s dramatic moon landscapes are like nothing you’ve ever seen.
