5 reasons to get a calligrapher to write your wedding invitations

Getting your invitations written by a calligrapher is seriously trending – but why should YOU do it?

With all the different elements (and expenses!) that go into the whole planning process, we’d forgive you for thinking that hiring a calligrapher to write your invitations is a bit of an unnecessary luxury, but actually, it could save you time, while creating a truly special touch. Here are a few reasons you should.

1. CREATE A STRONG FIRST IMPRESSION

We’ve said this before and we’ll say it again – your invitations are your guests’ first taste of your wedding, so you want to put your best foot forward, right? You want people to be excited when they get that special letter in the mail – and a beautifully calligraphed envelope will add to the excitement!

2. MAKE YOUR GUESTS FEEL SPECIAL

In a word full of emails and DMs, getting a hand written letter in the post has become something of a rarity, and receiving one that’s been given so much care and attention will make your guests feel special. Who doesn’t love receiving a beautiful letter created just for them?

3. IT’S GOOD AND PROPER

Ok, ok – so you might not give a toss about the proper etiquette with which to do things, but the reality is, some of your guests (particularly the older ones) might, and you want to keep them happy, right? It’s considered good etiquette to have your invitations hand addresses rather than printed, and as a bonus, a professional calligrapher will also help with how best to address particular guests, when it gets tricky.

4. SAVE PRECIOUS TIME

Planning a wedding is busy business, and there’ll be loads for you to do in the run up to your big day. Getting a professional to tackle writing your invitations will be a much needed tick off your long to-do list, if nothing else!

5. IT’S A MEANINGFUL REMINDER

Your wedding say is a BIG DEAL, and for you and your nearest and dearest, a beautifully calligrapher invitation can be more than a means of inviting your guests. After you’ve said your ‘I do’s and partied the night away, the invitation will serve as a special, tangible reminder of the fantastic time you all had.
