De-stress tips before the big day

Wedding planning can be a stressful business, but don’t let it get the better of you! Make some time for yourself and your hubby-to-be in the run-up to the big day – it’ll make all the difference between a stressed out and a chilled out wedding experience.


Take yourself off to the spa

Grab your girls – or just your mum – and head over to the spa for a day of you-time. Forget all the hassles with the suppliers as you treat yourself to a massage or manicure, and let all that tension out with a good old grumble (but don’t dwell on it too much!)

Make time for exercise

Working out does wonders for clearing your head, and regardless of your exercise of choice, make sure you don’t skimp on gym sessions when the planning gets tough. A refreshing run or trash about in the dance studio to upbeat music will be just what the doctor ordered to calm your nerves.

Organise a date night

Don’t forget the reason you’re going through all this – your love for that handsome fella! Organise a date night for some proper quality time with your hubby-to-be, even if it’s a simple home-cooked meal with a bottle of wine, particularly if you’ve been having little planning-related arguments – and remember, no wedding talk allowed!

Get some sleep

You’d seriously be amazed at what a good night’s sleep can do! If you’re staying up all night staring at the ceiling, stressing about vegetarian appetisers or souvenir options, try a few simple tricks for leaving all that behind. Start by turning off your phone an hour before heading to bed, burning a scented candle, putting a face mask on or having a relaxing bubble bath – anything that works, and you’ll be back to yourself before you know it!
