Pantone’s Colour of the Year and How to Incorporate it into your Wedding
Ultra Violet is this year’s colour, and it opens up a stunning world of possibilities.
Pantone has announced “dramatically provocative and thoughtful” Ultra Violet as 2018’s Colour of the Year, and with associations including originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking, we can’t wait to see it incorporated in some fabulous 2018 weddings.
As Pantone states, “Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos”, so natural ties include mystical and spiritual items like crystals and gemstones, which have already found their place as a strong trend in weddings.
Throughout history, the mystical quality of Ultra Violet has been linked with mindfulness and meditation, so we predict that it will lend itself beautifully to calming lighting, relaxing spaces and a sense of community in wedding receptions in 2018.
Purple tones have also been long associated with unconventionality and artistry, with music icons like Prince, David Bowie, and Jimi Hendrix adopting Ultra Violet as an expression of individuality.
And of course, we love this theme of individuality – what could be more perfect for the creative couple who’s looking to do things a little differently?
As Pantone puts it, “nuanced and full of emotion, the depth of PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet symbolizes experimentation and non-conformity, spurring individuals to imagine their unique mark on the world, and push boundaries through creative outlets” – YAS!
